Sylvia DiCrescentis started playing violin at the age of 4 and continued her music education throughout school studying with Gerri Fogg, Tammy Kaye and Monica Vanderbaan. She received a Bachelor's Degree as a violist in Instrumental Music Education from Robert's Wesleyan College studying with Marc Anderson. For over a decade, Sylvia has taught all levels and ages of students. Sylvia has experience teaching orchestra at Whitinsville Christian School and Marlborough Public Schools. For the past 4 years, Sylvia has served as manager of the Jr. District Festival Orchestra. Sylvia founded Vivo Strings in 2013, moving her home studio to 202 Worcester St. in North Grafton. In 2016, Vivo Strings moved to 210 Worcester St. and Sylvia welcomed Brittany Stockwell and Kathryn Haddad as teachers at the studio.
Sylvia maintains an active performance schedule throughout the New England area, most notably performing with the Reading Symphony as Principal Violist, New England Symphony Orchestra, Metrowest Symphony Orchestra, Worcester Chorus, Andover Choral Society and WPI Orchestra.
